My First KC Start-up Weekend

I participated in my first Start-up Weekend last weekend and was blown away by how much fun, energy, and personality was crammed into a single event. For those that don’t know, a start-up weekend event is a 54 hours over 3 day’s marathon where ideas are pitched, voted on, and finally implemented by teams. The idea is to have a viable product by the end of the event. The final product’s are presented and review by a panel of judges at the end of the final day.

The team I worked on, “For the People”, walked away with a third place ranking for a service that allows local governments to crowd source their maintenance requests. Think of it as Flickr for potholes. My contribution was an iPhone app that allowed for the location, a picture, and description of the issue to be sent to the dashboard mashup. To me this was a great change of pace from the day job, and a fun way to test your skills and ability to work with a team. I can hardly wait until the next Start-up Weekend rolls around.

HoN Builds issue update

It has come to my attention that some users are having issues with HoN Builds closing a few seconds after starting the app. There is a known issue with iOS 4.1 and if you update to 4.2 or newer the issue should go away.

The first major update to HoN Builds has been released. With version 2.0 the app has gone universal and now sports an iPad optimized UI.

Our 3rd and latest app, HoN Builds is now live in the app store. It is a utility app for use with the Heroes of Newerth computer game.

NextRx 1.1 just submitted to the App Store

We have just submitted version 1.1 of NextRx to the app store that adds the much asked for ability to add an event/appointment from the resulting Next Refill Date.

Hopefully it will be approved and posted with the next 7-10 days.

The next update of NextRx will add a built in calculator for filling out the “Days Between Refills” and the ability to add the resulting “Next Refill Date:” as an appointment to your calendar.

Look for NextRx 1.1with these new features later this fall.

NextRx 1.0 has been approved for the App Store. Currently the app is free, but does contain an ad banner. If enough people ask for it, we will make a .99 version and remove the ads.

We have submitted the medical utility app NextRx to the iTunes App Store.

NextRx simplifies the tedious task of calculating when a prescription can next be refilled for medical professionals. No more counting out days on a calendar! Given the last fill date, minimum days between refills (i.e. 30), the next refill date will be calculated using the formula (date + days)-1.
